Folios 572-573. Letter from Mr Ferrand of Harden Grange, Bingley, to the Poor Law Board, asking for an explanation of the bland reply he had received to his letter. Having accused the guardians of the Keighley Poor Law Union of dishonesty he wants to know if there will be a meeting of the guardians, with a Commissioner present, on Wednesday 7 February. As a rate payer he wishes to know what steps are being taken to enquire into the charges which he has made and states that he will attend the meeting in order to put his accusations to the guardians and that he expects a Commissioner to be present. Annotated: referred to H B Farnall [Poor Law Inspector]. 2 February 1855. Annotated: the reply should explain the Poor Law Board's position and try to arrange date for meeting of Keighley Poor Law Union at which the inspector and Ferrand could be present.
