Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to George Spencer, Clerk to the Guardians of the Keighley Poor Law Union, acknowledging the receipt of their letter dated 14 October and the return of the numbers of persons vaccinated by public vaccinators in the Keighley Union. The board says that the guardians must be aware that during the past year small pox deaths have exceeded the averages of previous years. They are aware of the prejudice among the [lower classes] of the subject of vaccination but they wish them to urge the public vaccinators to use their best endeavours to overcome this. Paper Number: 38254/1852. Poor Law Union Number 571. Counties: Yorkshire West Riding.
