Folios 121-125. Letter from George Spencer, Clerk to the Guardians of the Keighley Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, stating that in compliance with their letter dated 30 April asking for forms regarding the appointments of Samuel Pearson and Alice Pearson as Master and Matron of the Bingley Workhouse they are returning them. The salaries are as suggested, £20 for the master and £11 for the matron. The form shows Alice Pearson now of [Halden] near Keighley, had been a Power Loom Weaver. The salary to be £11 per annum plus rations. The vacancy was caused by the death of the late matron. The form shows Samuel Pearson, Bingley, and had been assistant to the previous master and mistress. The salary to be £20 per annum plus rations. Sureties are Benjamin Broadbent, Malster and Benjamin Squires, Grocer. The vacancy was caused by the death of the late matron Mrs Martha Whitely. Paper Number: 15942/1852. Poor Law Union Number 571. Counties: Yorkshire West Riding.
