Folio 11: case no 20, Benjamin Cook, aged 35, Private Marine belonging to the 'Simoom'; taken ill at Cape Castle Coast; sick or hurt, fever and dysentery; put on sick list, 2 December1873, sent 20 December 1873 to Hospital at Ascension.

Folio 11: case no 21, William Rogers, aged 33, Captain of Hold; taken ill at Cape Castle Coast; sick or hurt, rupia ulcer, had broken down in health considerably since arrival on the Gold Coast and recently discharged after treatment for ulcers of the right leg, however these were again broken and in addition he presented an extensive eruption of pemphigus over the right thigh and hip; put on sick list, 2 December1873, brought for survey 19 December 1873 and invalided at Ascension.

Folio 14: case no 26, Jasper Symonds, aged 20, Cooper’s Crew; taken ill at Cape Castle Coast; sick or hurt, periostitis, was under treatment from 22 October (at Madeira) till 30 November for the effect of a contusion of the inner side of the middle of the right tibia; put on sick list, 12 December 1873, sent 20 December 1873 to Hospital at Ascension.
