He fell to the deck and suffered head and back injuries; put on sick list, 4 September 1867, sent 4 September 1867 to Hospital at Simon's Bay.
Folio 16: case no 66, Edward Colbert, aged 25, Able Seaman; taken ill at Simon's Bay; sick or hurt, while in the main top about to sit down overbalanced himself and fell backwards falling with him was the boy (Samuel Dunn) above mentioned. He fell directly to the deck and struck his head and left elbow, there was a compound fracture of the humerus and concussion of the brain and spine; put on sick list, 4 September 1867, sent 4 September 1867 to Hospital at Simon's Bay, this patient died shortly after his arrival at the hospital, no post mortem examination.
