Folio 14: Barney McColl, Seaman, aged 34; disease or hurt, anasarca, shortness of breath with cough. Taken ill, 21 April 1813. Discharged to duty 27 May 1813. Recommends the use of flannel bandages in treating anasarca. Note in margin ‘This man is a very drunken dirty character and seldom lies in his bed’. Note in margin dated 24 March 1814, ‘Has enjoyed perfect health ever since and is become a sober man.’
