Folio 70: A list of men who during the period of this journal, have received wounds or hurts which may disqualify them for the public service, or subsequently in any way interfere with their earning a livelihood. (Names and details follow). No. on ship's book list 373, John Voller, aged 30, Captain of Maintop; hurts on 25 February 1850, ventral hernia; pension certificate granted on 26 February 1850. No. on ship's book list 12, John Evans (2nd), aged 37 ½, Private Marine; hurts on 14 March 1850, oblique inguinal hernia; pension certificate granted on 15 March 1850. No. on ship's book list 561, William Hingston, aged 27, Able Seaman Foretop; hurts on 2 April 1850, loss of power of left arm from enlargement of elbow joint; pension certificate not granted. No. on ship's book list 377, John Portlock, aged 23, Able Seaman Forecastle; hurts on 10 May 1850, loss of left eye by sudden blow; pension certificate granted on 11 May 1850. No. on ship's book list 472, William Gordon, aged 31 ½, Able Seaman Forecastle; hurts on 1 July 1850, fracture of right clavicle, scapula and left femur; pension certificate granted on 2 July 1850. No. on ship's book list 427, William Hartle, aged 26, Able Seaman Maintop; hurts on 18 November 1850, partial loss of sensation and power of right hand; pension certificate not granted. No. on ship's book list 66, Benjamin Sharpe, aged 25, Sick Bay Cook; hurts on 28 November 1850, partial loss of vision of both eyes; pension certificate not granted.
