Description

Local Forces in the West Indies: Imperial assistance. Asks as to the rumoured intention of His Majesty’s Government to keep a man of war at Barbados and if true states that Trinidad could accept the suggestions of the Colonial Defence Committee as per the secret despatch of 4 July. If not, states that mounted white troops would be necessary. States that because matter is urgent he requires a telegraphic reply.
