Folio 12: Surgeon notes that the following cases are selected from the list of those who were still under treatment from the previous journal. Folio 12: case no 598 (from last year journal), Robert Strudwack, aged 20, Private Marine; taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, palpitation, this man was invalided from HMS Agamemnon in February 1853, the disease became worse he was brought forwards for survey; put on sick list 27 July 1854, invalided 10 November 1854. Folios 12-13: case no 653 (from last year journal), James Cox, aged 33, Leading Seaman; taken ill at Petropanlowski [Petropavlovsk]; sick or hurt, vulnus, struck by splinters caused by cannon ball; put on sick list 4 September 1854, discharged 3 December 1854 to duty.
Folio 13: case no 658 (from last year journal), Samuel Berry, aged 30, Leading Seaman; taken ill at Petropanlowski [Petropavlovsk]; sick or hurt, vulnus, struck by splinters caused by cannon ball whilst at his quarter at no 8 gun on the main deck; put on sick list 4 September 1854, invalided 10 November 1854. Folio 13: case no 671 (from last year journal), James Scott, aged 33, Able Seaman; taken ill at Petropanlowski [Petropavlovsk]; sick or hurt, vulnus, wounded by musket ball, the ball entered on the middle and anterior part of left thigh and was found lodged on external surface of gluteus maximus beneath integuments of opposite [?tes]; put on sick list 4 September 1854, sent 23 January 1855 to Sick Quarter at Valparaiso.
Folio 14: case no 681 (from last year journal), William Glasscock, aged 25, Private Marine; taken ill at Petropanlowski [Petropavlovsk]; sick or hurt, vulnus, wounded by musket ball, the ball entered left on its anterior part about middle and came out about three inches above internal condyle of femur; put on sick list 4 September 1854, invalided 10 November 1854. Folio 14: case no 684 (from last year journal), Edward Stallard, aged 25, Private Marine; taken ill at Petropanlowski [Petropavlovsk]; sick or hurt, vulnus, whilst on shore at the attacked of the fort and in the acted of loading, was wounded by a musket ball which struck index finger fractured first pahlanx and opened the jointed at its articulation with the second…; put on sick list 4 September 1854, invalided 10 November 1854. Folio 14: case no 703, John Delaney, aged 49, Bandsman; taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, hemorrhois; put on sick list 24 September 1854, invalided 10 November 1854. Folio 14: case no 9, Joseph James, aged 24, Private Marine; taken ill at Esquimalt; sick or hurt, subluxatio, on shore on leave at Fort Victoria Vancouver, climbed the stockade and leapt over a hight of about 20 feet and fell upon his feet and severely sprained both ankles; put on sick list 12 October 1854, discharged 22 December 1854 to duty.
