Folio 36: case no. 115, Samuel Church, aged 21, Ordinary Seaman; sick or hurt, syphilis; put on sick list 3 March 1856, sent 4 March 1856 to Haulbowline Hospital. Folio 36: case no. 116, Charles Nicholson, aged 23, Private Royal Marine; sick or hurt, vulnus, had extreme phalanx of right thumb blown off by accidental discharge of his musket; put on sick list 12 January 1856, discharged 5 March 1856 to duty. According to the Surgeon this man on 30 June 1855 was brought to the [Tick?] Bay under the supposition that he had attempted suicide, but the surgeon found that he had scratched his throat with a blunt knife and also counterfeited fits. His case was submitted to the Captain who did not consider him a fit object for pension certificate, however he was invalided 20 March 1856.
