- Folio 163. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to the churchwardens and overseers of the Borough of Kidderminster, acknowledging his letter dated 17 February 1837 [15 February 1837] enclosing a copy of the resolution paper from the meeting [11 February 1837] held to approve the sale of the Borough workhouse to the guardians [of the Kidderminster Poor Law Union]. Regarding the ratepayers' conditions on the sale, to use the proceeds for other expenses, the Commission does not feel able to sanction the costs of the Local Act of Parliament but would sanction paying off parish debts, 'provided it was shewn that they had been legally incurred on behalf of the Borough'. Paper Number: 1218/C/1837. Poor Law Union Number 530. Counties: Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Shropshire.
