Folio 149a. Letter from Edwin Chadwick, Secretary to the Poor Law Commission to the churchwardens and overseers of St Agnes, Truro Poor Law Union to the Poor Law Commission, commenting on the list they sent, indicating that no-one emigrated from their parish between 30 April 1841 and 1 May 1841. They point out that an order was issued on 20 June 1840 to raise £60 to pay for the emigration of poor persons from their parish who had requested assistance. They ask: did the people emigrate? if so, how was it funded? if they have not yet gone, has the money been raised? Paper Number: 5699/A/1841. Poor Law Union Number 57. Counties: Cornwall.
