- Folio 399. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to George Spencer, Clerk to the Guardians of the Keighley Poor Law Union. The Commissioners approve the minute explaining why the size of the Keighley Medical District is larger than the limit laid down in article 8 of the General Medical Order. The Commission still think that the scale for the medical officers' salaries is too low but will sanction them for one year to March 1843. This does not imply that the Commission consider the terms to be sufficient or that the sanction in any way limits the discretion of the guardians to increase the salaries. Paper Number: 8645/B/1842. Poor Law Union Number 571. Counties: Yorkshire West Riding.
