Folio 363. Draft letter from [Edwin Chadwick, Secretary to the Poor Law Commission] to the Reverend Thomas Richards, Vicar, Icklesham, relating to the use of the proceeds of parish property to discharge claims on money advanced, stating that the Commission considers it expedient for the trustees of Widow Cheney's Charity to submit, for the consideration of a meeting of the ratepayers and owners of property in the parish of Icklesham, the need for the passing of a resolution to authorise the use of the proceeds to defray the purchase money of the site on which the old workhouse was built. Paper Number: 10915/C/1838. Poor Law Union Number 484. Counties: Sussex.
