Folios 360-362. Letter from Henry Edwards Paine, Clerk to Guardians of the Rye Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, enclosing a copy of the resolution of the parishioners of Icklesham relating to the payment of monies owing to John Simmons out of the proceeds of the sale of property and requesting the Commission's order of approbation. Sale of Parish Property Form 'Aa'. Liquidation of Debt. Notice of a meeting of the ratepayers and owners of property in the parish of Icklesham for the purpose of giving consent to the guardians to use the sum of £200 from the sale of certain premises in the parish in liquidation of £50 and £150 plus interest, borrowed from William Blackman, deceased, for the purpose of purchasing and erection of houses used by the parish. Signed by: Lawrence Reeve, Churchwarden; Christopher Hoad, Churchwarden; James Smith, Churchwarden; Joel Banfield, Overseer to the Poor; John Hoad, Overseer to the Poor. Sale of Parish Property Form. 'Certificate of Minister, Churchwardens and Overseers, of the Forms of Act having been complied with', concerning the sale of property in the parish of Icklesham. Signed by: Thomas Richards, Minister; Christopher Hoad, Churchwarden; James Smith, Churchwarden; Joel Banfield, Overseer to the Poor; John Hoad, Overseer to the Poor. Sale of Parish Property Form 'Bb'. Liquidation of Debt. Resolution of a meeting of the parish of Icklesham, consenting to the sum of £220 0s 0d produced from the sale of a house or building consisting of six tenements and garden a house or building consisting of three tenements and gardens and the workhouse with half an acre of garden, all freehold, situated in the parish of Icklesham to be using in liquidation of a debt of £210 plus £7 2s 6d interest. Votes carrying the resolution unanimously were: Thomas Richards, Vicar; [H Iarncoail], ratepayer; John Simmons, owner; Joel Banfield, ratepayer; John Hoad, ratepayer.
