Description
Content
Folios 471-473. Letter from William Alcock Dockrall, Liverpool, to the Poor Law Board, acknowledging with gratitude their letter paying attention to his complaints. He is sure that their notice will prevent 'that [hardened] Man [Bradley] from interfering or frightening the life out of the poor dying creatures'. He again urges a better diet, which would result in economy, by restoring the sick to health and enabling them to support their families. He observed that his letter had been read and dismissed by the Liverpool Select Vestry, but asserts that his complaints would have been upheld by 'the House Doctor [Mr Eddoes] and [the Reverend Home]. He is hoping to leave for Cork 'next Saturday' where his address will be [Vicar Street, St Barrys Cork]. He again asks for any employment, however small in salary. He concludes 'Blesseth Shall those be who Careth for the poor'. Paper Number: 44699/1852. See also Paper Number: 43876/1852.
