- Folio 451. Letter from Charles Hart, Clerk to the Liverpool Select Vestry, to Poor Law Board, referring to their letter of 23 April 1852, sanctioning appointment of Alice Johnstone as Assistant Schoolmistress, requesting a report at the termination of her six month trial period. The select vestry now state that Miss Johnstone has fulfilled her duties 'in the most satisfactory manner' Annotated: what certificate has this Officer attained? There is no objection to this appointment being sanctioned. H B Farnall, [Poor Law Inspector]. Paper Number: 41137/1852.
