Folio 422. Letter from Arthur Browne Steele to the Poor Law Board. He acknowledges letter of 11 October 1852, 37413/1852, informing him that the General Consolidated Order does not extend to Liverpool. He directs their attention to 5& 6 Vic; c 78 and 5& 6 Vic; c 76 which he says give full power to the Select Vestry of Liverpool. Annotated: acknowledge. Say that the Board were 'not unacquainted with the provisions of the local Act to which he alludes' but as it does not refer to the duration of appointments of medical officers, they can only refer him to their communication of 18 October 1852. Paper Number: 38695/1852.
