Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to Henry Saunders, Clerk to the Guardians of the Kidderminster Poor Law Union, acknowledging receipt of the `Form of Queries' relating to the appointment of Mr H C Ellins [Henry Charles Ellins] as Schoolmaster of the Kidderminster Union workhouse. The Board regretted that they could not agree to the permanent employment of Ellins as schoolmaster but, as the guardians had so much confidence in him, would sanction his re-appointment for six months so that he would be able to prepare himself for the examination of the inspector of schools and obtain the requisite certificate of efficiency. Paper Number: 18220/1848. Poor Law Union Number 530. Counties: Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Shropshire.
