- Folios 350-352. Letter from Thomas S Simkiss, Wolverhampton [Staffordshire], District Auditor, to the Poor Law Board reporting completion of the audit of accounts of the Kidderminster Poor Law Union for the half-year ending Lady Day; he states that: 1. A certified sum of £1-7s is due from Samuel Crocket, late Overseer of the parish of Dowles [Shropshire]. 2. The late Overseers have paid the balance of £201 14s 10d, due to the Chaddesley Corbett, to the treasurer. 3. The person employed to collect the rate has spent this amount. Annotation: enquire if the certified balance has been paid to the treasurer. Return this letter to Mr Simkiss who has omitted to sign it. Paper Number: 17224/1848. Poor Law Union Number 530. Counties: Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Shropshire.
