Folios 347-348. Appointment form for George Duncan, Collector for the Kidderminster Poor Law Union. He was previously a House and Land Agent, is 35 years old and from Townsend, Kidderminster. He had been a collector in Wolverley. The remuneration is 4d in the pound on rates collected over £3 and 6d in the pound on rates equal to, or less than, £3. His sureties are: Leonard Duncan, Kidderminster, Maltster, and John Shemmons, Kidderminster Foreign, gentleman. The post became available on the resignation of Thomas Shafford Giles whose 'irregularities ' had come to light. Annotation: sanction. Paper Number: 16345/1848. Poor Law Union Number 530. Counties: Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Shropshire.
