- Folio 328. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to Henry Saunders, Clerk to the Guardians of the Kidderminster Poor Law Union, acknowledging a letter dated 15 May 1848 that reported the resignation of Mr J C Ellins [Henry Charles Ellins] as Schoolmaster of the Workhouse. The Board informs the guardians that they sanction the continuance of Mr Ellins until a successor is appointed. The guardians should proceed with an appointment as early as possible and report to the Board in the enclosed form. A workhouse schoolmaster should be competent to give the instruction required by Article 114 of the Consolidated Order of 24 July 1847. The 'Inspector of Schools' will examine him. Paper Number: 14466/1848. Poor Law Union Number 530. Counties: Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Shropshire.
