- Folio 271. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to William Roden, Medical Officer of Kidderminster Union, referring to his enquiry respecting the attendance of medical officers' assistants on pauper patients. A copy of the General Order of 24 July 1847 was enclosed drawing attention to Articles 199 and 200. The Regulations require that the medical officer shall personally discharge his duties as far as may be practicable. When it is not practicable, his duties may be performed by a substitute. Such substitute must be legally qualified as a medical man. Paper Number: 9978/1848. Poor Law Union Number 530. Counties: Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Shropshire.
