- Folios 265-266. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to Henry Saunders, Clerk to the Guardians of the Kidderminster Poor Law Union, acknowledging a letter dated 3 April 1848, which forwarded a copy of a resolution made by the Guardians. In consequence of an alleged statement made by the President of the Board to the House of Commons, that he intended to bring the subject of salaries of union medical officers before Parliament, the guardians have resolved to delay for 3 months making a decision about an application by the medical officers for an increase in salary. In reply the Board states that the guardians have misunderstood or seen an incorrect report. The President has no intention of bringing the subject to the House. There is no reason why the guardians should not immediately entertain the question of the medical officers' salaries. Paper Number: 9660/1848. Poor Law Union Number 530. Counties: Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Shropshire.
