- Folios 255-255A. Letter from Henry Saunders, Clerk to the Guardians of the Kidderminster Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board replying to a letter dated 1 March 1848 that refers to an application to make an outdoor relief allowance to a pauper who is about to be bound apprentice on account of bodily infirmity. Saunders states that the binding will be voluntary, not parochial. The relief given will be under Exception 2 of Article 3 of the Prohibitory Order. Annotation: 'I refer to my former minute'. Write to the guardians that it would not be possible for the Board to sanction the allowance without establishing a dangerous precedent. Paper Number: 8410/1848. See also Paper Number: 5447/1848.
