Folio 11: case no 72, George Alexander, aged 46, Admiral’s Steward; sick or hurt, delirium tremens; put on sick list, 23 June 1862, sent 23 June 1862 to Royal Naval Hospital at Simon’s Town.

Folio 11: case no 73, James Gundry, aged 18, Boy 1st Class; sick or hurt, otorrhoea with purulent discharged from both ears; put on sick list, 4 June 1862 at sea, sent 12 June 1862 to Royal Naval Hospital at Simon’s Town.

Folio 11: case no 74, Joseph Hutchison, aged 16, Boy 2nd Class; sick or hurt, polypus growing in the left [mestusla?] its root from the drum of the ear; put on sick list, 11 March 1862 at Plymouth, sent 12 June 1862 to Royal Naval Hospital at Simon’s Town.

Folio 11: case no 75, James Pharos, aged 20, Ordinary Seaman; sick or hurt, indolent ulcer on the inner malleolus of right foot; put on sick list, 12 May 1862, sent 12 August 1862 to Royal Naval Hospital Ship Melville and subsequently invalided.

Folios 11-12: case no 76, John Hunt, aged 18, Ordinary Seaman; sick or hurt, incised wound of hand caused by a fall from the spanker boom; put on sick list, 3 June 1862, sent 23 August 1862 to Royal Naval Hospital Ship Melville at Hong Kong and subsequently invalided with pension certificate.

Folio 12: case no 77, Joseph Denison, aged 37, Boatswain; sick or hurt, readmitted with cephalalgia on the day he returned from the Hospital at Simon’s Town; sent 23 August 1862 to Royal Naval Hospital Ship Melville at Hong Kong and finally discharged for harbour duty on board HMS Princess Charlotte.

Folio 14: case no 93, James Type, aged 22, Ordinary Seaman; sick or hurt, syphilis, the man’s health broken up by the syphilitic poison, he came on this ship from the “Centurion” suffered from condylomata; subsequently the poison had manisfested itself in the form of ecthyma terminating in unhealthy indolent ulcers; put on sick list, 24 August 1862, sent 25 August 1862 to Royal Naval Hospital Ship Melville at Hong Kong.

Folio 15: case no 94, George Parsons, aged 42, Bandsman; sick or hurt, syphilis; put on sick list, 25 August 1862 at Hong Kong, sent 25 August 1862 to Royal Naval Hospital Ship Melville at Hong Kong and subsequently invalided.

Folio 15: case no 95, Robert Blake, aged 18, Ordinary Seaman; sick or hurt, rheumatism; put on sick list, 30 July 1862 at Singapore, sent 13 August 1862 to Royal Naval Hospital Ship Melville at Hong Kong.

Folio 15: case no 96, David Jones, aged 34, Captain Forecastle; was found drownded in Hong Kong Harbour on 26 August 1862, the man was on leave and supposed to have fallen accidentally into the water whilst coming off to ship.

Folio 15: case no 97, Arthur Smith, aged 19, Ordinary Seaman; found missing on the morning of the 2 September 1862, whilst the ship was proceeding to the north throught the straits of Formosa, supposed to have fallen over board accidentally during the middle watch.

Folio 15: case no 98, Michael Fahy, aged 30, Able Seaman; sick or hurt, phthisis; put on sick list, 30 September 1862, sent 28 November 1862 to Royal Naval Hospital Ship Melville at Hong Kong and subsequently invalided.

Folios 15-16: case no 99, Jonathan Halifax, aged 28, Gunner Royal Marine Artillery; sick or hurt, cholera, was wound by a musket ball lodge in the right leg above the ankle on 24 October at the capture of Kahding, now suffered an attack from choleraic diarrhoea; put on sick list, 26 October 1862, died 29 October 1862 at 1:25 am., [included post mortem examination].

Folio 16: case no 100, Charles Leeson, aged 32, Gunner Royal Marine Artillery; sick or hurt, ill with choleraic diarrhoea on his way back from Kahding; put on sick list, 26 October 1862, discharged 26 October 1862 to HM Ship Acorn in a state of collapse, died 27 October 1862.

Folio 16: case no 101, George Hutchings, aged 25, Able Seaman; sick or hurt, cholera; put on sick list, 25 October 1862 at Kahding, died 26 October 1862 at noon.
