Folios 2-3: Isaac Smith, aged 19, soldier; case number 1; disease or hurt, febris. Put on sick list, 26 October 1852 at sea. Discharged 6 November 1852.

Folio 3: Michael Sharkett, aged 19, prisoner; case number 2; disease or hurt, bronchitis. Put on sick list, 25 November 1852 at sea. Discharged 8 November 1852.

Folio 4: Florence McCarthy, aged 27, prisoner; case number 3; disease or hurt, hepatitis. Put on sick list, 3 December 1852 at sea. Died 2 February 1853.

Folio 5: Bryan Kernan, aged 23, prisoner; case number 4; disease or hurt, phthisis pulmonalis. Put on sick list, 4 December 1852 at sea. Died 27 December 1852. Includes details of a post mortem.

Folio 6: Michael Lee, aged 18, prisoner; case number 5; disease or hurt, lues venera. Put on sick list, 18 December 1852 at sea. Discharged 20 January 1853 to duty.

Folio 6: John Cullen, aged 31, prisoner; case number 6; disease or hurt, dysenteria. Put on sick list, 8 January 1853 at sea. Discharged 16 January 1853 well.

Folio 7: William McClochery, aged 18, prisoner; case number 7; disease or hurt, haemoptysis. Put on sick list, 14 January 1853 at sea. Discharged 12 February 1853 to the Colonial Hospital at Hobart Town.

Folios 7-8: Timothy Harrington, aged 16, prisoner; case number 8; disease or hurt, disease of brain. Put on sick list, 22 January 1853 at sea. Died 26 January 1853.

Folio 8: John Malony, aged 22, prisoner; case number 9; disease or hurt, catarrh. Put on sick list, 8 February 1853 at sea. Discharged 13 February 1853 to the Colonial Hospital at Hobart Town.

Folio 9: A nosological synopsis of the sick book kept during the period of the journal.

Folios 10-12: Surgeon's general remarks (kept in diary form). 22 October 1852 embarked a detachment of the 88th Regiment as Guard consisting of 2 commissioned, 4 non-commissioned and 46 privates. On 11 November examined 342 convicts at Spike Island and found a number of them weakly but not sufficiently ill to reject them. On 16 November received from Spike Island 339 convicts and another 3 on 19 November which completed the number for the ship.
