Description

Folios 1-2: Maria Keegan, aged 16 months, pensioner's child; case number 1; disease or hurt, diarrhoea (previously been subject to worms so had her elder sister of 5 years. Put on sick list, 5 August 1850 at sea. Died 15 August 1850.

Folios 3-4: Mary Donahoo, aged 14 months, pensioner's child; case number 2; disease or hurt, tabes mesenturia. Put on sick list, 19 August 1850 at Portland. Died 25 August 1850.

Folios 4-9: Thomas Philps, aged 18, ship's boy; case number 3; disease or hurt, epilepsy. Put on sick list, 27 August 1850 at sea. Discharged 27 September 1850 cured.

Folios 9-13: John Grice, aged 21, convict; case number 4; disease or hurt, phthisis pulmonalis. Put on sick list, 19 September 1850 at sea. Died 9 November 1850.

Folios 13-15: Edward Clark, aged 18, convict; case number 5; disease or hurt, palpatio cordis. Put on sick list, 20 September 1850 at sea. Discharged 29 November 1850 to the Colonial Hospital at Hobart Town.

Folios 15-17: John Gill, aged 49, convict; case number 6; disease or hurt, dysenturia. Put on sick list, 27 September 1850 at sea. Died 22 November 1850.

Folios 17-19: George Murphy, aged 21, convict; case number 7; disease or hurt, phthisis pulmonalis. Put on sick list, 1 October 1850 at sea. Died 19 October 1850. Details of autopsy included.

Folio 20: Mary Tynan, aged 1 ½, convict; case number 8; disease or hurt, diarrhoea and dropsy. Put on sick list, 13 October 1850 at sea. Died 2 November 1850.

Folios 20-21; Thomas Denzelow, aged 49, convict; case number 9; disease or hurt, diarrhoea. Put on sick list, 19 October 1850. Discharged 29 November 1850 to the hospital at Hobart Town.

Folio 21: John Powell, aged 33, convict; case number 10; disease or hurt, anasarca. Put on sick list, 3 November 1850 at sea. Discharged 29 November 1850 to the hospital at Hobart Town.

Folio 21; Henry Tucker, aged 37, convict; case number 11; disease or hurt, rheumatism. Put on sick list, 18 November 1850 at sea. Discharged 5 December 1850 to the hospital at Hobart Town.

Folios 21-22; Thomas Speakman, aged 25, convict; case number 12; disease or hurt, rheumatic pericarditis. Put on sick list, 20 November 1850 at sea. Died 22 November 1850.

Folio 22; John Gardiner, aged 21, convict; case number 13; disease or hurt, haemoptysis. Put on sick list, 26 November 1850 at sea. Discharged 29 November 1850 to the hospital at Hobart Town.

Folio 22; Joseph Chadwick, aged 25, convict; case number 14; disease or hurt, diarrhoea. Put on sick list, 29 November 1850 in harbour. Discharged 5 December 1850 to the hospital at Hobart Town.
