Folios 1-2: case no 1, John Durward, aged 35, prisoner, taken ill in the Channel; sick or hurt, diarrhoea, severe attack of diarrhoea with griping pains and slight tenesmus, with pain on pressure in the right hypochondriac region...stated that he suffered from a similar affection when in Millbank Prison; put on sick list 18 March 1844, discharged 7 April 1844 cured.
Folios 2-3: case no 2, William Furniss, aged 22, prisoner, taken ill in the Channel; sick or hurt, diarrhoea, was attacked last night with griping and purging also slight vomiting, tenderness pain in the epigastrium to the umbilical region, straining. Stated that he had diarrhoea twice at Millbank Prison; put on sick list 18 March 1844, discharged 5 April 1844 cured.

Folios 6-8: case no 10, Samuel Ingham, aged 21, Private 58th Regiment, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, phthisis pulmonalis, subject to cough and expectoration for the last six months (was told by the [?] Medical Officer at Chatham that the voyage would be beneficial), he now had a sense of constriction across the chest, short quick respiration, pulse quick and small 93, tongue clean and very florid, the cough troublesome through the night, he cannot rest in a horizontal position from a sense of weight on the chest, expectoration profuse and streaked with pus, bowels irregular, was very emaciated and of a sallow complexion; put on sick list 29 March 1844, died 19 May 1844 at 10 pm.
Folios 8-9: case no 11, Joseph Bridgwater, aged 45, prisoner, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, phlegmon et apostenia, had phlegmon tomor on the anterior spine of right tibia about its center with extensive inflammation, the absorbent vessels much inflamed and as hard as a chord under the finger. Inguinal glands of that side similarly affected and enlarged; put on sick list 7 April 1844, discharged 24 April 1844 cured.
Folios 9-10: case no 12, John Williams (1), aged 21, prisoner, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, pneumonia, severe pain under the right breast, cannot draw a deep inspiration, had cough attended with pain, tongue coated, skin hot and dry, thirst, pulse full hard and quick, severe headache, bowels torpid; put on sick list 29 April 1844, discharged 12 May 1844 cured.
Folio 10: case no 13, John Williams (2), aged 21, prisoner, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, pneumonia, of a spare habit of body, had great pain in the chest immediately under the sternum, dyspnoea, slight cough which catches at every attempted, tongue furred, pulse full and hard, skin hot and dry, severe headache also across the orbits, watery eyes; put on sick list 1 May 1844, discharged 13 May 1844 cured.
Folio 11: case no 14, Samuel Paxon, aged 26, prisoner, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, pneumonia; put on sick list 3 May 1844, discharged 11 May 1844 cured.
Folio 11: case no 15, George Brown, aged 45, prisoner, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, tussis (chronic), stated that for four years he was subject to cough, has had various remedies that has [rest?ed] him to health, but in cold weather always suffered. He had no pain in the chest, but a sense of tightness, always very little expectoration trouble more at night; put on sick list 3 May 1844, discharged 14 May 1844 cured.
Folio 12: case no 16, Isaac Johnson, aged 18, prisoner, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, obstipatio, bowels constipated for the last three days, pain about the umbilicus; put on sick list 3 May 1844, discharged 8 May 1844 cured.
Folios 12-13: case no 17, John Sutcliffe, aged 31, prisoner, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, obstipatio with irritable stomach; put on sick list 3 May 1844, discharged 8 May 1844 cured.
Folio 13: case no 18, William Biggs, aged 27, prisoner, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, rheumatismus (chronic), suffered fro the last two years from the disease, pain in the knee, shoulders and thights; put on sick list 3 May 1844, discharged 12 May 1844 cured.
Folios 13-14: case no 19, Sergeant George Sellors, aged 30, 58th Regiment, taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, vulnus finger amputatio, while in the act of loading a pistol with ball cartridge, it accidentally went off and passed the ball and ram rod through the index finger of the right hand, shattering the bone close up to the metacarpal junction; put on sick list 3 May 1844, discharged 15 May 1844 cured.
