1 individual petition (Mary Atkins, wife of the prisoner) on behalf of John Atkins, labourer, convicted at Warwick in October 1830 for theft of a duck and fowls. Grounds for clemency: the prisoner, an unemployed labourer, was induced to carry a bag of poultry in ignorance of the fact that the contents (farmyard fowls) had been stolen. Initial sentence: 7 years' transportation. Gaoler's Report: character not known. Annotated: nil. FP1
