Description

2 collective petitions (William Craggs and Sarah Craggs, the prisoner's parents and 12 inhabitants of London) on behalf of William Craggs convicted at Surrey Assizes in 1829 of burglary, property of Mrs Ann Law. Grounds for clemency: the first criminal offence of an inexperienced youth. Initial sentence: death commuted to transportation for life. Annotated: nil. FO51
