Folios 369-370. Letter from John Kirkland, Clerk to the Guardians of the Southwell Union relating to the Public Health Act of 1875.He forwards to the Local Government Board a copy of a Resolution passed at a meeting of Ratepayers. The Resolution states that at a meeting of ratepayers of the parish of Southwell, held at the Crown Hotel on 21 February 1878, it was resolved that it was expedient that the parish of Southwell should be constituted a Local Government District under the provisions of the Public Health Act of 1875.
Annotated at length that the Board is opposed to this action for small parishes.
