3 individual petitions (prisoner and Mary Lyons, his wife) and 1 collective petition (19 people of Houndsditch London) on behalf of Lyon Lyons convicted at the Old Bailey July 1827 of stealing woollen cloth property of Mr Waller. There is also a letter from Reynolds supporting the petition. Grounds for clemency: age nearly 69, has a wife and four daughters (two deaf and dumb), wife will have to apply to the parish for relief or enter the workhouse, has lived in Houndsditch for 27 years, has been on hospital ship most of sentence. Initial sentence: 7 years' transportation. Gaoler's report: a general receiver of stolen goods, character on board the 'York' very good - blind and infirm. Annotated: nil. KO14
