1 collective petition (John Jones and Frances Jones, parents of the prisoner) on behalf of George Jones convicted at Somerset Summer Assizes 1828 for burglary (housebreaking) from J Isaac. Grounds for clemency: youth of 17, repentant, realises enormity of crime, only child of a large family to commit a crime. Initial sentence: death commuted to transportation for life. Gaoler's report: character good. Annotated: removed to penitentiary. KN13
