Folio 36: Peter Nihil, aged 38, Convict; disease or hurt, paralysis. Put on sick list, 10 October 1831. Discharged, 30 October 1831. Had an attack of the nature of apoplexy some months previously in the Hulk and had occasionally suffered weakness in the lower extremities and torpid bowels since. Complained of severe headache and loss of power of both lower extremities and right arm, tongue so much affected that he could scarcely make himself understood, face flushed, flow of tears from the eyes, skin hot, [carotid] acting violently, pulse at the wrist 78 and feeble, feet cold, sense of fullness as well as pain in the head.
Folio 36: Thomas Keenan, aged 22, Private; disease or hurt, opacitas cornea. Put on sick list, 10 October 1831, at sea. Discharged to duty, 20 October 1831. Complained of dimness in the right eye without much pain. 'There is a slight effusion of tears, the iris is contracted with a fringe of red vessels around its [external] border and there is a milky opacity of the cornea.'
Folio 37: John Murphy, aged 26, Convict; disease or hurt, fever. Put on sick list, 4 November 1831, at sea. Discharged, 11 November 1831. Complained of severe pain in the head, skin hot, face flushed, pulse 110 full and strong, tongue white and furred. He had been one of the working party, was active and willing to be employed and had hitherto enjoyed excellent health.
Folio 37: James Naylan [Neylan], aged 40, Convict; disease or hurt, palpitatio cordis. Put on sick list, 6 November 1831, at sea. Died, 9 November 1831. A fortnight earlier he had catarrhal symptoms with pain in the heart and debility but got better after being bled and a blister. Complained again of pain in the region of the heart, great difficulty breathing, incapacity of the least motion without bringing on distressing palpitation and sense of suffocation, tongue dry, pulse 84 and small. On 8 November he complained that he felt as if his heart were divided in two and was bathed in perspiration. He died suddenly at 8:40am and the Surgeon regretted that the state of the weather prevented his opening the body.
Folio 38: Patrick Donelly, aged 19, Convict; disease or hurt, dysenteria. Put on sick list, 11 November 1831, at sea. Died, 17 November 1831. Had previously suffered dysentery [folio 26] and did not gain much strength or flesh. He complained he had never been well since receiving a beating on board the hulk. During treatment 'black inodorous matter' was passed from his bowels on a number of occasions. In the 24 hours before he died there was crepitus in the cellular membrane under the skin of the neck and breast.
Folio 39: William Moore, aged 33, Convict; disease or hurt, fever. Put on sick list, 17 November 1831, at sea. Discharged, 21 November 1831.
Folio 39: Maurice Murphy, aged 45, Convict; disease or hurt, dysenteria. Put on sick list, 17 November 1831, at sea. Died, 24 November 1831. He had had an attack of dysentery the previous month which had a more than usually severe effect on him because he had lost his teeth and could not chew his food. Upon consideration the Surgeon thought this may have been a case of scurvy.
Folio 40: John Costelloe, aged 21, Convict; disease or hurt, scorbutic pneumonia. Put on sick list, 25 November 1831, at sea. Died, 3 December 1831. A robust healthy looking young man, who had not complained the whole voyage. He was seized with severe pain in the side and difficulty breathing, the following morning he was much worse, skin hot, face swelled and red, pulse 120 but not very full or hard. On 27 November, he had no pain but fits of difficulty breathing during which his face became almost black. His gums were spongy and bled at the slightest touch and he had considerable debility, particularly after motion. On 28 November the sight of land seemed to have revived him and some of the other sick. On 2 December, the Surgeon was called to visit the Colonial Surgeon respecting the sick and deaths aboard the ship, on his return he gave the patient an orange and his usual rum, lime juice, sugar and water, with laudanum. The following morning the patient asked for his spirits but died suddenly at 7:40am before he could be given them. The immediate cause of death was effusion into the chest.
Folio 41: Cormick Berry, aged 30, Convict; disease or hurt, scorbutic dysenteria. Put on sick list, 21 November 1831, at sea. Discharged to the hospital at Sydney, 3 December 1831. He died in about 10 days or a fortnight after being at the hospital.
Folio 41: Edmund Scanlon, aged 30, Convict; disease or hurt, dysenteria scorbutica. Put on sick list, 27 November 1831, at sea. Discharged to the hospital at Sydney, 3 December 1831. He died in about 10 days or a fortnight after being at the hospital.

Stood the voyage remarkably well considering his age and that he had lost his teeth. Refused to take fresh beef or soup so sent to the hospital.
