Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to William Powell, Clerk to the Guardians of the Newport Pagnell Poor Law Union, replying to his letter of 20 October 1853 in which he enquires if the guardians have the power to take a drain, necessary for sanitary purposes, through property adjoining the nuisance. In the circumstances stated, the guardians have no power to do this. Paper Number: 37379/1853. Poor Law Union Number 23. Counties: Buckinghamshire.
