Description

Folio 1: Journal of the Convict Ship Recovery [recording the] State of the thermometer in the hospital at 8am, 12 noon and 4pm. 19 November 1822, joined ship at Deptford. 23 November 1822, 6 dockyard labourers with their families, 24 persons in all, join for passage to Cork, by order of Captain Young. 25 November 1822, 2 more dockyard labourers join. 26 November 1822, 2 young men as passengers for New South Wales by order of the Navy Board. 28 November 1822, 3 dockyard labourers and one woman and child, for passage to Cork. 7 December 1822, sailed from Deptford for the Downs. 13 December 1822, anchored in the Downs. Received 5 boats for the Preventive Service in Ireland, complete with their furniture, and sailed for Cork. 20 December 1822, anchored in the Cove of Cork. Surgeon reported to Lord Colville Commander in Chief and the Resident Agent of Transports. With details of casks of provisions opened.

Folio 2: 21 December 1822, victualled the passengers and discharged them for Cork by order of Lieutenant Lewis, Resident Agent of Transports. Folio 2: List of sick during passage to Cork. Folio 2: 1 March 1823, the brig Integrity arrived from Dublin with 240 prisoners for the Recovery and St Vincent. The sleeping berths have all been numbered and each prisoner and his possessions will be given corresponding numbers and divided into messes of six men each. Folio 2: 4 March 1823, received 26 convicts from Cork jail and 78 from the Integrity. The prison door open during the day and the prisoners given permission to come on deck. All mustered and locked up at sunset. Folio 2: J Burns, Convict; disease or hurt, catarrh. Put on sick list, 4 March 1823. Discharged, 16 May 1823.
