- Folio 214. Letter from W E Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfield Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board. Informing that the trade is in a very depressed stated in the District and all its branches. In consequence lately number of applications for relief has increased. The workhouse has been offered in such cases, and many have become inmates thereof. Under these circumstances the guardians have resolved to commence their weekly meetings until further notice. Annotated: express approval and consent of the Board to the proposed assignment. Paper Number: 6922/1855. Poor Law Union Number 337. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
