- Folio 210. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to George Walkden, Solicitor and Vice Chairman of the Mansfield Poor Law Union. In reply to a letter of 14 February he states that if a new valuation is required it should be made by a competent valuer and duly appointed by the guardians under an order of their board under the relevant act. Various forms are referred to [not included]. There is no objection to using an earlier valuation but the surveyor would be responsible for the work. Paper Number: 5366/1855. Poor Law Union Number 337. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
