Description
Content
Folios 204-205. Letter from William Power to the Poor Law Board, in reply to a letter of 26 January number Paper Number: 1446/1855. Referring to an enclosed extract from a letter received from William Bradley, Assistant Overseer, Mansfield. Stating that the examination of accounts up to the latter end of September and books were balanced to that period. A small amount of the new rate granted; having been collected on September 29 was not brought into account by the overseer. Further states that the report of holding £50 in hand was formed from the collection and deposit book up to 29 September. The overseers expect the entire collection to be paid to their bankers; they draw him a cheque to pay bills. Possibility of some small bills or expenses being paid before the cheque is received; but ought to be of a small amount. A note concerning such was entered in Mr Bradley's deposit book. He formerly paid to the overseers, but for the past two years has paid to their bankers. Note addressed to Mr. Austin, informing that William Bradley has resigned from the office of Assistant Overseer. 3739/1855.
