Folio 202. Letter from George Harriett, Deputy Clerk, Newark Union, in reply to a letter of 6 January concerning an alleged unsettled balance 'due' to Mansfield Union for two quarters relief given to a 'non resident pauper' from Newark union. Refuting the claim states that upon examination of the union books; found no sums due to Mansfield union and that all relief given to non resident poor of this union by Mansfield appears to have been regularly repaid, for which vouchers are in possession. Assuring that with respect to the transmission of remittances he had at all times complied strictly with the General Order. Paper Number: 2286/1855. 46310. Poor Law Union Number 337. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
