Folios 100-101. Letter to [Rear-]Admiral [Keith Stewart] from WS Laurie of Woodhall [Balmaghie, Kirkcudbrightshire] appending a transcription of the remission granted in 1631 by Charles I to William Fergusson of Craigdarroch of his crime of adultery with a widow, Catherine Stewart, in Marwhirn. Laurie indicates that the situation is exactly the same as that of 'our friend' and suggests that a similar remission could be obtained privately.
