Folio 144. Letter from William Santley, James Boardman, [William Blewitt], Joseph Pannell and William Taylor, Liverpool, to Mr Frankland Lewis, Poor Law Commissioner, forwarding a series of queries regarding parish expenditure. They provide several examples of salaries: governor, matron, surgeon, chaplain and clerks etc. as well as other general expenses. Much detail such as costs for pauper burials, is included on the church and clergy. Specific reference is made to the Reverend John Fulford, formerly a curate, but dismissed by the Reverend John Brooks. Annotated to refer to Mr Coode, [George Coode, Assistant Secretary to the Poor Law Commission. Further annotated draft letter: they are unwilling to interfere, but suggest laying the details before an assistant poor law commissioner. Poor Law Union Number 220. Counties: Lancashire.
