Folios 138-143. Letter from John Mackinley, Liverpool Select Vestry, to the Poor Law Commission, enclosing copies of the accounts. Enclosed are printed copies of the accounts of: Printed 'Report of the Churchwardens and Select Vestry' for the year ending 25 March 1835 [two copies]. References are made to Mr Forwood, Mr G P Forwood and to John Mackinlay, Secretary to the Liverpool Select Vestry. Mention is given to the 'Illegitimate Office', the proposed introduction of a 'Day Police', carious rates, the Poor Law Amendment Bill and the workhouse. The accounts of John H Turner and Francis Heywood, Churchwardens are included, showing expenditure for indoor and outdoor poor, etc. are given, and signed off by W Dickson, Treasurer. Heads of expenditure are Workhouse Department, Overseers Department, Church and Clergy, Workhouse, Out-Poor, Illegitimates' Office, County Rates, General Management and Incidental Expenses, Churches, Aged and Infirm Employed, Aged, Infirm and Sick Unable to Work, Able Bodied Under 60 Years of Age, Children, and Dietry. There is also a summary report on the 'Parish Fever House' or House of Recovery' James Dowdall, Governor. Audited by Robert Jones, John Wilkinson and John Kilshaw. Printed by Perry & Co, Pool Lane. Poor Law Union Number 220. Counties: Lancashire.
