Folios 8-50. Letter from George Forwood, Assistant Overseer of the Liverpool Select Vestry, to the Poor Law Commission, offering his views and suggestions on the subject of parish assessments, particularly of property values for assessing the poor rate. He supports this by enclosing: A copy of an answer to the Town Query, Question 61, to the Poor Law Commission, December 1832, from Geore Forwood. Printed by Evans, Chegwin and Hall, Liverpool. 'The Annual Value' case of the Crown vs Attwood, Barnewell and Cresswell, Hillary 7 and 8, Geo IV, 1827. 'The Equity and Necessity if Equalising Parochial Assessments and of Regulating Parochial Accounts', 1828, [pamphlet]. Contains an appendix of the accounts of Richard Houghton and Nicholas D Bold, Churchwardens and the Liverpool Select Vestry, 18126-1827. 'Bill to Equalise the Assessments for the Parochial Rates, and to regulate the Returns of Parochial Accounts'. Poor Law Union Number 220. Counties: Lancashire.
