- Folio 222. Letter from Richard Michell Hodge, Clerk to the Guardians of the Truro Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission classifying the paupers admitted into the workhouses in the Truro Union as prescribed by Article 9 of the Workhouse Rules thus: Probus Workhouse - all classes. St Clement Workhouse - classes 3, 5, 6 and 7. St Mary Workhouse - classes 1, 4 and 6. The workhouses of St Mary and St Clement are situated in the borough of Truro about half mile from each other. The workhouse at Probus is five miles from St Mary and four and a half miles from St Clement. Annotated: to acknowledge and thank. Paper Number: 2396/A/1844. Poor Law Union Number 57. Counties: Cornwall.
