Caption order and prison record from when he was convicted of receiving 8 silver watches well knowing them to have been stolen at the Quarter Sessions at Hertford, Hertfordshire 02 March 1858.
Then aged 32 years and by trade a canal boatman.
Sentence: 4 years penal servitude.
Licence granted 31 May 1861, for early release from Portland prison.
