Letter from James L Barker, Clerk to the Guardians of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, requesting approval for the appointment of Thomas Rice of Cowpen, as Collector of Rates for Cowpen township following the resignation of William Wilson. An extract from the minutes of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union, on 9 May 1839, to this effect is enclosed. Paper number: 3325/B/1839. Poor Law Union Number 333. Counties: Northumberland.
