- Folios 326-327. Letter from James L Barker, Clerk to the Guardians of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, concerning the appointment of George Graham of Howard Street, Tynemouth, as Collector of Rates for the Tynemouth township on the resignation of Charles Hopkins. Robert Wheldon of Tynemouth and Thomas Graham of Bishop Auckland are to be sureties. It also states that in addition to the normal duties he is to make out and complete all rates and rate books. An extract from the minutes of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union, on 25 April 1839, to this effect, is enclosed. Annotated; sanction the appointment. Paper number: 3016/B/1839. Poor Law Union Number 333. Counties: Northumberland.
