- Folio 325. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission, to Thomas Prest, Overseer, [crossed through] at D Hill, North Shields, acknowledging the letter to Sir John Walsham, Assistant Poor Law Commissioner, concerning whose duty it is to make out the poor law books. The Commission consider that the collector is to perform the principle role but the overseer must sign them and make sure they are correct. Paper number: 2259/B/1839. Poor Law Union Number 333. Counties: Northumberland.
